We’ll keep you covered and guarantee that all the legal stuff is correctly dealt with. We will also send you the certificate of destruction to avoid you getting an £80.00 fine!

Don’t worry! Providing that you have some form of photo ID, it’s usually possible to scrap your car without a V5 or V5C log book. Make sure you discuss the missing log book with the company you are selling with beforehand and they will advise you on this.
Alternatively, you could always apply for a replacement log book on the DVLA website.
Yes, since car tax digitised back in 2014, anyone selling or scrapping their car will automatically receive a refund of any full prepaid months of car tax. You’ll receive the refund once you notify the DVLA of the transfer and it’s confirmed by the new owner.
